Weems Chapel to honor pastor

Weems Chapel United Methodist Church in Picayune annually spends the month of October honoring its pastor.

In 2005 the Rev. Gloria McKinney was appointed to Weems Chapel. Church members say in addition to leading the church, she has taken a leadership role in the community. During her tenure, the church had added a food bank, praise dance teams, big brother organization, expansion in the children and youth ministries and outreach support of the community.   

Weems Chapel will begin honoring its pastor on Oct. 4 with a final appreciation service set for Oct. 25.

McKinney is the parent of Ar-mund and Akeem McKinney and grandparent of Aden Jace McKinney all of Amory.
